What is a splash rating?
Plus Series radiators have a high splash rating (IP44), making them suitable for rooms where they might get wet. This feature is perfect for both drying spaces and bathroom heaters.
IP stands for Ingress Protection. The rating indicates the dust and water resistance of the appliance.
An IP44 rating means that water splashed against the radiator will have no harmful effect on the appliance. So, you can rest easy knowing that Plus Series radiators are built to withstand water and humidity without any worries.
Can I leave items on top of the heater to dry?
While leaving clothing on the radiator isn’t a fire danger, we don’t recommend you do this. The top vent should be free of obstructions for best operation and lifespan.
What size heater is best for a drying cabinet?
We recommend measuring your drying cupboard or cabinet space to make sure the heater will fit properly. This ensures the performance and safety of the heater. If it's too big it might obstruct airflow or access to clothes. It might also cost more to run than it needs to.
For very small drying cabinets, we recommend the Plus Series 250W models. These radiators are designed to provide efficient heat in smaller spaces without turning it into a sauna or making it hard to get to your clothes. If you have a larger drying cabinet or laundry room, consider a 500W or 750W model Purmo heater, available in a range of sizes.
